Hand Building
This 4-week class will introduce students to the three core hand building techniques in clay: slab, coil, and pinch.
These skills will be used on a multitude of functional-based projects to build competency in handling clay.
This is a great introduction to clay for new potters. Or an expansion of techniques for a continued education in clay.
Beginner Wheel Classes
This 4-week intro to wheel class is designed for those who have never taken a pottery class before.
Our instructors will introduce you to the foundation of every thrown vessel: the humble cylinder.
Skills learned in this section include:
Students should leave this session with a basic understanding of the pottery wheel, tool use, glazing, and studio safety.
Wheel +
We designed this 4-week class to cover the basics in an expedited fashion. It is tailored to people who have previous ceramic experience and need a refresher before they become a member. All levels of wheel experience are welcome. Instead of specific projects, students enrolled decide what forms to make. This class will open the possibilities of how far clay can be pushed on the wheel. It is a demo heavy class.
Hand Building: Special Projects
In this 4-week class, you will expand your hand building knowledge by creating specific projects or forms catered to your teacher’s specialty. This is a great class to push your limits or perfect a different form.
Drop-in hand building/wheel
This is a drop-in class designed for those who are interested in Terra Tactile as a potential studio. Current students/members needing help on specific projects are also welcome. This is NOT a class! Previous ceramics experience is required to enroll. We do not offer drop-ins every month.

Wheel and Hand building
All classes run on a four-week cadence
